01Overview
A custom media wall is priced mainly by its width and height, then by its finish, then by what is built into it: the console, a fireplace, lighting, shelving. The table below shows indicative installed ranges for the most common layout, a full-height panel wall with a floating console, at a 9-foot ceiling.
These figures come from the same pricing model as the Media Wall Worx designer, so the range you see in the designer and the ranges here agree. Your fixed price is set after the site measure and written on your drawings.

03What each budget looks like
Four real designs from the designer, from the least to the most involved, each with its indicative installed range.

Painted panels in greige with a matching console, so the wall recedes and the room leads.

Each change below is measured against a 13 ft walnut wall, 9 ft ceiling, panels with a painted floating console, which comes to about $14,000 – $16,500.
Base cabinets instead of a floating console
+$2,250Floor-standing base cabinets hold more than a floating console and hide more cable, but they add carcass and hardware.
A shelving surround instead of full-height panels
+$6,000Open shelving on either side of the screen is the most involved layout. It adds two finished cabinets with shelves, sides and returns.
A 10 ft ceiling instead of 9 ft
+$1,400Taller panels use more material, and the panels above 9 feet are harder to handle and install.
A stone console
+$5,450A stone console is quarried, templated and fabricated separately from the woodwork, so it carries its own cost.
A linear fireplace
+$5,200A linear fireplace adds the unit, the framing around it and the clearances it needs. Gas or venting work, if any, is separate.
LED under the console
+$650The simplest lighting: a dimmable strip under the console that makes it read as floating.
A halo cove plus LED under the console
+$2,650A cove at the ceiling washes the panels with light. It needs more channel, more driver capacity and more fitting.
An in-wall cable chase
+$650A chase behind the panels carries power and low-voltage from the screen down to the console, so no cable shows.
A soundbar niche
+$450A recess for a soundbar, sized to your model, keeps the line under the screen clean.
05What's included
Included
- Design, including the free design visit and your online design
- Site measure and a full shop drawing set
- Fabrication in the finish you choose
- Delivery, installation and sign-off on site
Not included
- Electrical work, which is done by a licensed electrician
- The television, mount and audio equipment
- Gas or venting work for a fireplace
- Painting or patching the room beyond the built-in
06How to keep the cost down
- Keep the panel module simple. Fewer, wider panels cost less than many narrow ones.
- Choose paint for the console and wood for the panels. The wall gets the warmth and the cost stays down.
- Use LED under the console instead of a full halo. It gives most of the effect for a fraction of the cost.
- Settle the TV size before the site measure, so the panels, niche and chase are drawn once.
07Timeline
About 4 weeks from signed drawings. Most projects go from the online design to a site measure within a week or two, then to drawings and a fixed price. Fabrication starts when you sign.
08Questions about cost
Is the price in the designer a quote?
No. It is an indicative range from the same model as this guide. The fixed price comes after the site measure and is written on your drawings.
Why does a wider wall cost proportionally less?
Some costs are fixed per job, like the design, measure, drawings and setup. They are spread over more wall as the width grows.
Does a fireplace need gas?
Not necessarily. Many linear units are electric. If you choose gas or a vented unit, that work is quoted separately by the right trade.
Can I add shelving later?
Usually, if the panels are drawn for it from the start. Tell us at the site measure and we will plan the module around it.
