The Bronx has a wide mix of homes: prewar and postwar co-ops in Riverdale and Spuyten Duyvil with Hudson River views, Art Deco buildings along the Grand Concourse, and single-family and two-family houses in Pelham Bay, Morris Park, Country Club and Throgs Neck. Our studio is in Mott Haven, so Bronx projects are close to home.
01Riverdale co-ops
Riverdale living rooms are often generous, with big windows facing the river. Put the media wall on a side wall so the view stays the focus, and keep the TV at seated eye height.
02Grand Concourse Art Deco
Art Deco apartments have curved corners, sunken living rooms and original details. A painted media wall with simple panels respects them.
03Houses in the East Bronx
Family rooms in Pelham Bay and Throgs Neck houses can take a full-height media wall with a fireplace and storage for games and toys. Houses also make wiring simpler than co-ops.
04Two-family homes
Living rooms in Morris Park and Pelham Parkway two-family homes are often narrow. A shallow floating console with closed storage works best.
05Close to the studio
Because we're in the Bronx, visits for measuring, samples and drawings are easy to schedule.
